Power Grid Company of Bangladesh Limited Job Circular

Power Grid Company of Bangladesh Limited (PGCB), entrusted with the responsibility of operation, maintenance and development of national power grid, invites applications from Bangladeshi citizen for appointment against the vacant position of Assistant Engineer (salary grade-8). The appointment will be made initially for a period of five years (including one year probation period). After satisfactory-completion of probation period service will be confirmed. The service contract will be renewable up to the age of 60 years subject to satisfactory performance as per service rules of PGCB.

Qualifications:

• At least graduate in Electrical & Electronics/Civil/ Mechanical/CSE Engineering subjects from any university recognized by Bangladesh Govt. & UGC.
• No third Division/Class at any stage of the academic career shall be acceptable. Candidates passed in the grading system must possess at least a CGPA 3.5 on a scale of 5.0 or a CGPA 2.5 on a scale of 4.0
• Must have strong communication skill in Bengali & English (written & oral) including computer literacy.

Salary packages: 
Basic Pay Tk. 50,000/-; House Rent, Medical, Conveyance and other allowances as per pay scale ’2016. In addition to the above company pays two festival bonus and Bengali new year allowance (20%) in a year, provides contributory provident fund, group insurance, leave encashment, annual Increment, gratuity etc.
Income tax is payable by the employee.

Age Limit:

• Maximum 30 years but relaxable up to 32 years for the freedom fighters quota. For PGCB candidates age is relaxable up to 40 years.

• Age would be calculated on 01/11/2016.

Responsibilities: 
Assistant Engineer (AE) is an entry level executive in the company. AE is responsible in the functional area of operation and maintenance of sub-stations & transmission lines; power transformers and substations equipments, testing and commissioning of transformers and substations; Operation of telecommunication with PLC/Optical Fiber and RTU system; Protection, metering and control system; SCADA, Energy management and information management system; Load dispatching performance; Design & quality control; Power system planning; Procuring & managing stores function; Preparation of project planning and implementation of power projects etc.
